Runes and Asatru Religion
Asatru is the original pre-Christian religion of the Northern European Peoples. Asatru was followed by the Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, Germans, English and Dutch. Some Irish, Scott’s and Welsh also. Asatru expresses the religious heritage of the peoples of Northern European descent as a whole.
The 9 Runic Virtues of Asatru (below) pretty much sum up what the Asatru religion is all about. Our ancestors believed in a number of gods and goddesses.
The 24 rune futhork is the one most commonly used by the followers of Asatru. There is no such thing as a 25Th rune. The blank rune is a farce.
I prefer to work with the younger futhork of 18 Armanen runes.
Runes no matter which futhork you choose to use, are Universal Creative Energies. You can best use runes by making a connection to their runic energies in the Quantum Ocean and bringing them into your life.
When I do my rune work I use only one of the runic keywords of each of the runes at any one time. When I am doing Rune Meditation or doing Rune Yoga or Rune Magic, Rune Breathing or making Bind runes, I chose one rune and one runic keyword to concentrate on.
Here are some more runic keywords you can use and chose from if you so desire. These are the ones most frequently used by those following Asatru.

We act with nobility not baseness.
Our inner standards are high.
Rune ANSUZ —– Freedom from Slavery.
We have no masters.
Rune KENAZ —– Kinship is better than Alienation.
We are not isolated or lonely.
We have our folk, kith & kin and family.
Rune EIHWAZ —– Realistic not Dogmatic.
No blind faith.
Mystical but practical.
We live in this world not waiting for the next..
Rune MANNAZ —– Vigor not Lifelessness.
We dare all we can be.
We are risk takers.
We are not sheep.
Rune OTHILA —– Ancestry not Multi-culturalism.
Asatru is not a religion for all.
We re connected to the Ancestral Soul of our ancestors through Asatru.
Asatru and the runes are the heritage of the Northern European Peoples. Anyone can use them if they so desire but the power will not be there. No more than the power of a Cherokee medicine man would be there for me. Or the power of a christian priest. Or the power of a Samurai or Zulu warrior for me.

Before you do an Odin blot do you ask yourself the question? Why am I trying to invoke Odin? You must have a reason for doing it. Why do you want Odin in your life?
Let me give one of many examples. Let us say I am a writer and I want to write better, more exciting, more thorough. How can I get help? With an Odin blot. We know that Odin is the God of Wisdom, writing and poetry. Forget about his warrior traits and other attributes for now.

One of the most popular of the Norse Gods is Thor. We can visualize him with his red beard, giant hammer, Mjollnir riding through the mountains slaying frost giants.
All well and good. But how can you and I invoke the powers of Thor into our lives now. Now that we live in the 21st century? There are no frost giants on the physical plane as far as I can see. They still exist in the Quantum Ocean where Thor and the other gods/goddesses also exist.
THE NORSE GOD THOR. Thor lives in Thruoheim, (The World of Might) or in Thruovangar (Fields of Might.) His magical hammer Mjollnir was forged by a dwarf or dark elf Sindri. He also has a Belt of Strength Megingjaruan. Thor constantly struggles against the Jormungand serpent. This serpent is trying to strangle midgard with his grip of ignorance and fear. Thor would have killed the serpent with his hammer if another giant had not cut the fishing line Thor used to trap him. In Ragnarok Thor and the Midgard Serpent will kill each other. Thor’s natural enemies have always been and still are the giants.
THOR’S POPULARITY. Rune masters of the 10Th century inscribed Thor’s name on stone asking for his protection. Thor was chief guardian of Icelandic settlers and Guardian of the settlements. In Iceland Thor was chief god of the invaders. The Norse rulers of Dublin, Ireland were called the Tribe of Thor. The vikings of Normandy worshiped Thor. Thor was the god whom the invaders of England loved most. The Lapps adopted the Cult of Thor. The Lapp Thunder God is depicted on shaman’s drums with a hammer in each hand. The heathen English worshiped a God Thunor. The Saxon’s regarded Thunaer (Thor) as the foremost of the gods. In Germany Donner (Thor.) Tacitus shows that there was a Germanic god who the Romans called Hercules (Thor.) India’s Hindu god of Lightening is Donar (Thor) so says Jacob Grimm.

Runes Asatru Balder’s Blot Rejuvination

Every Rune is a key to a Universal Creative Energy. Rune SIG (SOWULO) is the key to the energy of Light and rejuvenation.

When Balder dreamt of his upcoming death. His mother Frigga tried to prevent his death by getting an oath from every creature, object and force in Nature, not to hurt him. She got an oath from all but the malicious trickster LOKI who was jealous of Balder’s beauty.
One of the games, in which Balder stood in the middle of the circle of gods/goddesses, was where they threw harmless arrows, knives and darts at him. Loki made a poisoned dart from the only plant that Frigga did not get an oath from, the mistletoe.
Loki hid behind blind Hodar who wanted to join in the fun. Loki gave Hodar the poisoned dart and directed his aim at Balder. When the poisoned dart thrown by Hodar struck Balder, he fell dead.
Odin sent Hermod to Hel to try and get Balder released. Only if all the gods/goddesses wept for him was Hella’s answer. Loki refused and Balder stayed in Hel. Loki was punished. Balder was resurrected after the Battle of Ragnarök. Therefore the energies attached to Balder and his Rune SIG are the energies of light and rejuvenation.
Since we are energy beings, we all need to be rejuvenated (recharged) daily. Idun gives the apples to the gods/goddesses of the North for just this same reason.

How to use an Asatru Tyr Blot with the Tyr rune to make yourself more courageous. Win court cases with Tyr Rune.
Tyr is called the invincible warrior of the Northern Gods.
According to the Eddas, Odin, Tyr and Thor wanted to shackle The Fenris Wolf. But the wolf broke every chain they put on him. The dwarfs weaved a magical ribbon, called Gleipnir. FRIGGA’S RUNES
There are three runes associated with the Goddess Frigga.

RUNE BERKANA IS THE WOMAN’S RUNE
This blot is about protection for women and the home. We will use only one rune in this blot. Berkana Rune. It is very powerful and will act like a magical amulet for you, your children and your home.
GODDESS FRIGGA
Frigga is the All-Mother, wife of Odin.
She is the goddess of the home, family, fertility, love, motherhood, domestic affairs and ease of transition (dying.)
Frigga is as powerful as Odin and is the only god/goddess allowed to sit in Odin’s high seat Hlidskjalf when he is not there. She can look out over the whole universe from there. There is nothing she does not know. But she is called the silent Goddess for she does not speak of what she knows.
Frigga’s children are Thor, Balder and Hodar.
Her stepchildren are Heimdal, Tyr, Vidan and Skljoldr.
Her magical tool is the distaff. And her animal totem is the goose.
The constellation Orion’s Belt is known as Frigga’s Distaff. The rotating stars at night are her spinning wheel.
It is said that Frigga uses her spinning wheel to weave the clouds. She also sits at her spindle weaving the destinies of men and gods alike at the beginning of each new year.
If you wish the ask Frigga about your destiny, first build a rapport with her and her Berkana rune. She may tell you. But be careful. She knows all the destinies of men, women and gods. She knew the destiny of her son Balder. She knew he would die, and try as she would, with all her powers, she could not stop it. Do you really want to know your destiny? Ask her. I am content to let mine works itself out.
Frigga’s name means LOVE.
She lives in Fensalir which means “Marsh Halls.
In Scandinavia the blessing of Frigga is still invoked for birthing women with a white candle, with the Berkana Rune etched in its side. The candle is used as a charm to ensure a safe delivery.

Ask Yourself: Why do you want to perform a Frigga Blot?
Why do you want Frigga in your life?
To be great — Concentrate.
Each goddess has a variety of powers and functions, as does each of the runes. During a blot, choose one rune, one goddess, one keyword to pour your mental energies into.
This is how the energies are stored in the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) where all energies exist.
The more specific you are with your thoughts of what you want to do, the more powerful and successful will the blot be.

Frigga is the women’s goddess. I can only share so much information about her with you because I am a man and she won’t tell me. But you as a woman can build (and should build in these chaotic times) a strong relationship with her. She may just share her secrets with you.
Whatever woman’s problems you may have, stresses and worries, inharmonious relationships etc, invoke Frigga.
Invoke her to insure an easy and perfect childbirth. Use the white candle ritual. You may want to place a Berkana rune symbol on the stomach.
But mostly in today’s chaotic world your children and your home need the protection of Frigga and Rune Berkana.
FRIGGA BLOT RITUAL
Again I try to keep all blots simple. They were designed for the modern day Asatrurer who does not want to go the woods loaded down with ritualistic tools and outdated Viking rituals. Vikings cannot help us now with their axes and swords. Our minds and our runes and our sciences can.
This is for women who want to work alone in the privacy of their own home with modern 21st century rituals.
This is what you are going to do. Attract Frigga’s protective energies using the Rune Berkana, out of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and into your aura.
Let us begin!
Sit quietly in your favorite chair. Relax.
Hold the Berkana Rune (print it our from bottom of page) in your lap.
Look at it and meditate on it. Your mind (Mental Radionics) will make the connection between the Frigga runic energies in the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and you.
Take a deep breath and breathe in the Berkana runic energies. Use your imagination to see these white protective energies flowing from Frigga in the Quantum Ocean to you.
Intone mentally to yourself:
“I am now inhaling the energy of Frigga’s Berkana runes out of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) and into my aura.
Exhale.
Inhale and intone.
Exhale.
Inhale and intone.
Exhale.
Three time for three is a magical number of the Northern gods/goddesses.
Your aura is now full of the protective energy of Frigga’s Berkana rune.
Relax and enjoy its peaceful, healing energies.
Now take a deep breath and exhale. At the same time visualize the protective energies of Frigga pouring out of your Pineal Gland (third eye) in the middle of your forehead.
Here is a very powerful secret that few know or practice. Every organ in our body has a particular function. Our Pituitary gland in the top of our heads is for receiving higher energy, like the energy that comes out or the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God.) Our Pineal gland in the center of our forehead is for sending this energy out into the physical world.
Modern doctors know very little about these two spiritual glands, because they have lost their spirituality. The curse of our times.
To use as an analogy: We receive God’s powerful energy, out of the Quantum Ocean, and into the top of our heads, our pituitary gland. We distribute this energy into the physical world through our pineal gland.
As above, so below.
All great magicians, healers and shamans know this. It is only now due to the discovery of the Laws of Quantum Physics that we have it.
As you are mentally pouring this energy out of your pineal gland intone:
“I am now sending the protective energy of Frigga to surround my home and grounds with a sphere of white light.”
See your whole home and grounds surrounded by Frigga’s protective white light.

Now take a deep breath and exhale this protective light to each of your children and grandchildren.
Intone:
“I am now sending Frigga’s protective energies to surround (name) and keep him/her safe all day.”
3 times for each child and grandchild.
Give a mental thanks to Frigga and go about your business with the assurance that you, your home, your children and your grandchildren are protected.
Do this as often as you like. Build a powerful rapport with Frigga. It is cumulative. She awaits your attention.
